Multi-Asset Portfolio Concepts

A multi-asset framework considers how different types of investments might contribute to growth, income, liquidity and risk management.

Equities

Often used for long-term growth exposure, but prices can be volatile and losses can be substantial.

Fixed income

May provide income or a different risk profile, but carries interest-rate, credit, inflation and liquidity risks.

Cash and short-term reserves

Can support liquidity and near-term spending needs, but purchasing power may erode with inflation.

Other exposures

Real estate, commodities or international assets can introduce different drivers as well as additional risks, costs or tax considerations.

Allocation discipline

The asset mix should relate to the goal and risk profile rather than recent market performance alone.

Risk disclosure: All investing involves risk, including loss of principal. Diversification and asset allocation do not guarantee a profit or prevent loss. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
